x=1 is the only positive solution as x=2 is not a solution and andrew wiles proved that the equation a^x + b^x = c^x has no solution for x>2

he only proved it for x integer.
what about
7^1/2 + 3^1/2=10^1/2
and things like that?

Actually, 7^1/2 + 3^1/2 = 5, not 10^1/2.
Disregarding that you are right. It should be "only positive integer solution" and "no solution for x>2, where x is an integer".

hehe, you've got my point I wasnt claiming that 7^1/2 + 3^1/2=10^1/2
By the way, it is not = 5 either.
The point was
7^x + 3^x=10^x could have a solution x that is not an integer....
does it?

Hahaha that's what i get for being cocky xD
(7^(1 / 2)) + (3^(1 / 2)) = 4.37780212
But yeah, i really have no idea how many solutions it has :P
I'll have a look at it later (maybe) :)
